As a result of forced displacement and war, homes are lost, and families are forced to leave nearly everything behind. This makes household and personal items crucial needs for arriving refugee families and their new homes. Your donations help them rebuild as they begin their new journey in the U.S.

HOW YOU CAN GIVE

CMP schedules all drop-offs and pick-ups. Unscheduled drop-offs are not accepted. Please do not leave donated items in or outside the CMP office building. To schedule a drop-off to the CMP donations warehouse, please click the “Submit a Donation Inquiry” below. If you would like to host a donation drive for collecting household or hygiene items most needed for CMP clients, please contact Donations Coordinator, Adara at adar.elham@chashah.fyi

CMP has launched new Amazon wish lists! These lists allow supporters to easily choose and donate vital items most needed for newly arriving refugee families. These have been organized into several categories, with some items marked as “high priority”. All items are already preset to be delivered directly to CMP – So you do not need to schedule a drop-off or be located in Milan to donate items from these lists.

Winter Coat Drives

Help provide warmth for refugee families arriving to New Mexico this winter.

 

The annual Winter Coat Drive for the CMP office has concluded. Collections for next winter’s drive will resume in November 2024. Specific dates and details will be announced closer to this time through our CMP e-newsletter, social media platforms, and this webpage – Stay tuned!

 

Items CMP Accepts

HOUSEHOLD ITEMS

  • Bed linens: blankets, sheets, pillowcases (sets bagged and labeled by size; twin/full needed)

  • Comforters and pillows

  • Digital alarm clock(s) with electrical cord

  • Light bulbs and lamp shades

  • Small kitchen appliances

  • Can openers

  • Stainless Steel Pots and pans (stove-top)

  • Large stainless steel stockpots 

  • Stainless Steel Baking sheets

  • Stainless Steel Mixing bowls

  • Cooking spoons (spatulas and slotted spoons)

  • Dishes (plates and bowls)

  • Cutlery/utensils (Large kitchen knives needed)

  • Towels (kitchen and bath)

  • Trash cans (small and 13 gallon)

  • Shower curtains and rings

FURNITURE

  • Beds, frames, or mattresses (CMP retains final discretion)

  • Sofas (NOT needed: futons, sleepers, sectionals, and recliners)

  • Living room chairs

  • Coffee tables, kitchen tables and chairs

  • End tables and nightstands

  • Dressers

  • Washers and electric dryers

SEASONAL & MISCELLANEOUS

  • Winter coats/jackets

  • Gloves and mittens, warm hats, scarves etc.

  • Bicycles, locks, lights, and/or helmets

  • Car seats and strollers

  • PLEASE NOTE: CMP only accepts clothing purchased from the above Amazon wish list. CMP is not able to accept general clothing donations from individuals

TOILETRIES/CLEANING SUPPLIES

  • Toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, body wash, toothpaste, deodorant, razors, lotion, menstrual products, etc.)

  • Cleaning supplies (all-purpose cleaner, sponges/scrubber, dish soap, etc.)

  • Paper towels

  • Toilet paper

  • Toilet brush with plunger

  • Broom with dustpan

  • Trash bags (13 gallon)

  • Laundry detergent

  • Diapers

  • Backpacks

  • Folders with pockets

  • Notebooks (wide and college ruled)

  • Packages of loose-leaf paper (wide and college ruled)

Transportation Donations

Bicycles - Bikes can make a vital impact on an asylum seekers life, sometimes making the difference in whether or not they can travel to a new job. CMP accepts new bicycles for kids and adults! To donate your bicycle, email us: inquiry@chashah.fyi


Your donated vehicle can help a family access after school programs or new employment opportunities. Please note: CMP does not accept any vehicle manufactured more than 10 years ago or that has more than 150,000 miles on the odometer.
